Numlock is on
Doesnt matter, numlock on or off keypad nr 5 is just not working cry:
|
Let's start off as stupid & simple as possible.
Open a program like Wordpad or Notepad and try typing a 5 with the keypad with the numlock on, see if it types it. |
lol
yes ofcourse it does work in notepad. In alliedassault it works but NOT in spearhead mad:

y dont u just use a,w,s, and d. its pretty much the same

I'm not calling you an idiot or anything man, just trying to go over the most basic steps to make sure, before we go into more complicated stuff.
Now, Im guessing you tried changing it in options to KP_5, but did you try the Delete key? Sometimes, keyboards interprate the KP_5 as the delete key. Try assigning a key to delete, and press KP_5, see if it does the delete key's action. If all else fails, you can change the bind yourself either through the console or the unknownsolder.cfg file. |
Type bind KP_5 "+back" on the console.
BTW, mine works fine. But it just says "Enemy Spotted" |
I have the same problem, and tried: Using the console bind commands and using the original cfg file from MOHAA. No good. In the options menu the keys display correctly, but they just don't seem to function in the game.
And, with the regular MOHAA it still works as it should. It seems Spearhead interprets the keys in another fashion, e.g. pressing keypad 7 no longer displays 'keypad 7' in the controls menu, but it says 'Home'. Same for keypad 8, it says 'up arrow' (the sign ->, but upwards). I am now using a different config, but I don't like it. I was always using the keys 'Home, Insert, End' and so on, but now, since keypad 7 is also 'Home', I'm short on keys (in close proximity of each other). And, strange thing: My roommate has the exact same keyboard as I do. And with him, it works perfectly. We're both using Windows XP, but he does not have Service Pack 1 installed... Could this be the cause? Don't think so, to be honest. Who can help? |
