Having PROBLEMS installing Spearhead?
 

1st remove the spearhead demo.
Then if your seeing graphic problems!
Remove all your custom PK3 files.

create a folder called "back up" or whatever you wish to name it

move all your custom PK 3 files to this folder. you should only have the default 0-6 pk3 files left, including any other game files.

Now install your game or restart your game. If all works now, add your PK3 files back one at a time until you experience the problem. So far the 3 people I talked to. That had problems this fixed it ASAP

So far from what I can tell, blood mods will cause graphical errors/glitches in SP (not sure about MP yet). Also, as far as I can tell at the moment there's some maps that conflict with SP as well. What I mean is, in theory, some scripts written for certain custom maps cause a conflict with SP maps and therefore you won't be able to load SP.

BTW, I'm currently using Fubah's Total War Sounds (all three files), a custom scope I can't remember the name of, Red's Ultimate HUD (not sure if this has any effect on SH at all) and a couple other UI mods. I also through in BOFB Ardennes (map which incorporates the use of Flak88's) and still didn't have a problem.

I'm going to go through map by map to see which one it was that stopped me from playing SP and I'll report that back here as soon as I've figured it out. Of coarse, it could also be a skin that causes the problem. I'll find out soon enough... eek:

There's also talk about a Anti-Aliasing issue with some older GeForce cards, the GF3 and GF2 MX's mostly. You may have to disable this setting from your card's advanced options, but preform what Rude said first to determine this issue.

Well, to be honest, I don't think that's the problem. I have a GeForce 2 MX/MX400 w/TV-out and anti-aliasing isn't causing any problems.

And, I've got some more info for ya. I just did some testing and it turns out that it's a skin that crashes SP back to the main screen. Here's a list of the skins I used when this happened (one custom map installed with five UI/Sound mods, all proven to work ok):

Played on it last night... wasn't happy about the way they set it up, but that's why we rent our own, I suppose... Pinged at 50 - 60 which was nice and had no lag (which is weird given that AA seems to have lag issues on *my* server). I'm going to see if I can get Ben's opinion on how it ran tonight. I'll let ya know...

BTW, I'm going to post what I just said here on MOHadmin... and hopefully I can continue to keep it updated on which skins work and which don't...

Got it last night @ Electronics Boutique for $30 bucks flat. Helps to know people @ game stores. biggrin:

I always seem to get the registration error that was posted in another thread. I have uninstalled the demo, cleaned the registry, have gone in and stopped all processes from running except for explorer and taskmgr. I have also done this in "safe mode", and i still get the damn error.

System specs.
1.2 Ghz
256 MB RAM
38 G HD
nvdia gforce 4 mx 420 64MB
CD rewritable, and DVD rom (i tried installing in both drives)

Any help would be appreciated
