help shooting through rails
 

In the server we play on, you cannot shoot throught the open spaces in the rails. For example: in Ramegen where the balcony is on the axis side....if a player is crouched down you should be able to shoot him through the open spaces in the rails or the person crouched should be able to shoot players approaching. Also cannot shoot through the rails on the stairs either. This isnt the only map that is like this. Any instance of rails and open spaces is blocked like a shield. This is annoying and not what I consider realism. I have talked with serveral admins and they have no clue why this occurs. Recently the ISP just re-installed the game on the game server to see if it fixes and it didnt. Someone that can relate to this situation could be a big help. No forums or any other resource can provide an absolute answer. Thanks!!!

I don't think there is a way to fix this. I have noticed it along time ago. I think we just have to live with it. cry:

most all servers allow you to shoot through the open spaces in the rails.....for some wierd reason we cant. what is that can allow us to have game play the way it should be.....is there a command or setting. the most important thing is to be able to do so that the client does not have to download the map as custom.

I couldnt shot through the rails either. I think its the way the map was made..........

even if so.....there is a way that enable to shoot through the rails and thats what im looking for. EA is lame and does not have an answer for it. need help on this one

Several people have asked about this. So far no on knows why it happens only on some servers.
On my server you can shoot thru the ralis. On other peoples you can't even though it's the same map.

Well with the new post above, it says some servers can. Maybe it is a glitch or a mod that we cant?

this has to be a issue that can be solve with a an editing answer. the only thing is to make sure the edit doesnt turn it into a custom map. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't gotten SH yet, but in the demo this happened to me a lot... It's one of those little bugs that really puts you off.

this has nothing to do with spearhead. its all allied assault....cant believe there is no answer to this

lol...none of us can on many issues. You learn to deal with it, when you play a EA game.

If I were you I'd start making comparrisons of the setting of the server. Is realism on, Fast speed...... maybe one of the settign causes a glitch.

This is in MOHAA on a stock map ( Remagen ) with CRK.
On my server you can shoot thru the rails.
On the The 75th's FireFight Arena you cant shoot thru the rails.

Same stock map with the same copy of CKR and no other mods.

exactly, you see what i am talking about.....you have always been able to shoot through the rails, right? for some reason even after re-installing we cannot. this needs to be fixed, someone has to know what settings it takes to enable to shoot through the open spaces in the rails.
