The Geforce fx
Oddly enough nvidia were supposed to be dropping the "geforce" name after the release of the ti-4xxx series. Now theyve slapped the letters FX onto the end of it. Musta taken the marketing guru's at nvidia roughly 6 months to come up with that ingenious name.
Anyway not content with it taking up an agp slot in your pc nvidia have picked one weird looking cooler for it which will helpfully take up the pci slot next to the agp slot. It also requires a power connector to be attached to it. I'm not suprised with the COOLING FAN attached to the card since ATI has nearly the same design and IT requires a power slow as well. I mean, it was only expected with the amount of power these next of the line cards are supposed to be pumping out.

Ati's only uses a floppy conector which i think uses less power. Those molex connectors can be a pain to plug into a gfx card, i had trouble with my voodoo 5 since it used the same connector. cry: |
*drools*
Sweet. Finally something to use that 8x agp slot I have. Hell, it could block 2 of my pci slots for all I care, that still leaves me three unused ones that I really cant think of a use for anyway. Maybe if you bought quality mother boards, you wouldn't need all those slots. I cant understand how people will buy the fastest processors, ram and vid cards only to let them bottle neck on a $30 mobo. Anyway, I got off topic, sweet. Now if they will just cut the prices on the gf4ti series. Tomorrow. |
