Found this over at shacknews heres what they have to say:
[quote:8c999]The GeForce FX GPU redefines the graphics capabilities for desktop PCs, by delivering: -- Awesome 3D Graphics Power: the world's first 500MHz GPU is able to compute 375 million programmable vertices per second; 4 billion pixels per second; and 16 billion AA samples per second. And with the world's first 1Ghz DDR2 memories, GeForce FX features the fastest frame buffer ever designed. Complete support for AGP8X and NVIDIA patent pending Intellisample(TM) technology ensures developers are able to create scenes of unrivaled beauty at unmatched speeds. -- Engineering Excellence: NVIDIA's latest GPU delivers state-of-the-art technology and engineering expertise. The GeForce FX GPU packs nearly twice the number of transistors as the GeForce4 GPU by utilizing the industry's most advanced 0.13 micron and copper manufacturing process. And combined with a radical and revolutionary patent pending dynamic thermal management solution, the GeForce FX GPU is an enthusiasts' dream. -- Cinematic Visual Effects: Architected for high level programming languages such as Cg, the GeForce FX GPU with its new CineFX engine produces visual effects that take a quantum leap toward cinematic rendering. With the industry's first 128-bit studio-quality color processing technology, the CineFX engine produces 3D worlds and characters more real than anything that's come before.[/quote:8c999] *me flips the bird to ATI* and it has DIRECT X 9 SUPPORT! Hahaha, I don't even know what half that crap is. I'll stick with my Gf4 Ti4200, even if it runs "marginal" I could care less. Plus I'm not paying $300+ for a video card even if it is "Ub3r 1337"

Whats a gefroce? eek:
Direct x 9 support? Been there done that, ati has had it since the r-9700 release. It was pointless for the radeon and its pointless now. Simple fact of the matter is games are still being coded for directx 8 standard. Directx 9 still is being worked on, it may come out next month but even then by the time games companys start coding games to take advantage of dx9 funcionality the r-9700 AND the "geforce fx" (ghey name btw) will have been superceded by ati and nvidia's next products. The r-9700 paper release was in july meaning the chip was finished and they were shipping chips to manufacturers. Nvidia are 4 months behind with their new chip and have obviously had time to improve on the 9700. The nv-30 you buy in stores will be very different frm the design nvidia had in mind before the 9700 was unveiled. Basically they've had to redesign parts of it so it can surpass 9700 performance. Doesn't really make much difference though, at the minute ati are ahead of nvidia in the graphics card race because of nvidia devoting loads of resources to te development of the xbox chip. If nvidia want to get back in the race then their next card is going to have to come out BEFORE ati release the nv-30 buttscrewer called r-350. And knowing nvidia's development cycle that isn't gonna happen. |
Dude, you gotta admit, your original post was pretty friggin' geeky.
Sorry I stepped on your pocket protector, erm, toes. Zone |
