Should schools make accomodations for Muslim students?
 

Heard this story on FOX news.

Some Muslim families in Maryland asking public schools to accommodate their religion. Hmm last time I checked religions was not allowed in school, Now they want special praying times with prayer mats, what should they be allowed to interrupt classes so they can pray? do they want every muslim holiday off I mean geez you cant give them the whole friggen month off so they can do their Ramadan thing, you just cant do it. They want special menus for their diet, that I could live with. But the actaul practice of religion is not allowed in public school, and other religions dont get special treatment either, hell in some districts you cant have "christmas" partys, we dont interrupt classes to let Catholics have confession during 5th period. Religion should be kept out of the public schools, if you want special treatment because of your religion, then go to a religious school.

So no, I don't think we should make special accomedations. School and religion don't go hand in hand, and they very well shouldn't.

No. Schools dont cater to any religion so why should this one be differant? Im tired of this overly politically correct bullshit. I hunger for the days of calling someone a fag on a public street infront of hunderds of people and not being sued by anyone. Now days every parent on the street would sue, along with the fudge packer. THey would all win and i would owe my lifes work to each of them. No one dare speak there mind, it'll becoem a federal case.

Seems to me that Muslims are trying to be more and more recognised in the public eye by stirring up shit like this. When will they learn that they are no more important or better than the next average joe. Fuck 'em, if they want to do their little wailing excerise they can fuck off home to do it, or go to their local mosque, why the hell should normal everyday kids have to put up with that bullshit day in day out.

Now, I went to a Christian school, and had to go to church service every damn morning, and it got very old very quickly, I soon found myself skipping that part of the day, or missing the bus just so I could avoid it. Dont get me wrong, I'm still Christian, though I never go to church anymore and you could never pick it by looking at me, but I didnt go to school to listen to people preach about God, I went to school to LEARN. I wish Muslims would just fuck of back into their own community and not trouble us with their petty problems of being able to praise Allah at the right time of the day. Stupid fucks.

maybe theyr just starting this cause they know their home country or area is gonna be wiped off the face of the earth in a couple of years. biggrin:

Buy a Mercedes.... or the terrorists win. I disagree letting muslims practice their religion in public school, but I really don't mind if they started opening muslim schools, there are christian schools. I think they should have vegetarian menus at schools.
