file and image size restrictions

Anyone think these are needed? We have afew people with sigs big enough to make a screen res of 1600x1200 whimper and some sigs take fucking ages to dload even on cable.

I proprose a sig size of 550x125 and no more than 30k in file size.

We need someone who can delete big sigs from people profile too if they don't stick to the rules, wingman or badscript i would assume.

I agree, but cap the filesize at 100K.

Every sig I've made hasn't topped 80K or so. The big sigs are getting out of hand, though. We had this discussion a few months ago, but I don't think anything was done about it (well, looking at some of the sigs going, it's OBVIOUS nothing was done about it).

*cough* GERM *cough*

it would be one thing if it was some n00b with a huge sig asking for a no-cd crack or something, but people like germ who always end up posting something useless in every thread? come on. i find it hard to believe they can browse the god damn thread and not get pissed off by their own sig size.

Pixels = no more than 400X400

file size = no more than 100kb

Thats what I think.

Innoxx 11-27-2002 12:46 PM

I fucking agree!

There was a thread about the same issue last week, I think. The person who created the thread was flamed big time by some idiots who think huge sigs are cool. They don't realize that they're breaking one of the rules for posting in this forum. This is why this forum needs more mods. Only 4 mods for such a busy forum? Strik0r and/or Gerard would be great additions for mods.

do not make, fun of germ he, is my best friend

Bazooka_Joe 11-27-2002 01:03 PM

Germ, stop or I'll make sure you're banned.

Airborne Butters 11-27-2002 01:23 PM

I get scared of your sig, Germ.

ninty 11-27-2002 01:33 PM

I agree some sort of size restriction should be implemented.

However, don't go overboard. I used to visit another forum that got rid of all pictures and sigs and it killed the site. However, that site is run by a dictator that liked to beat me. ed:

What about multiple sigs? oOo:

If it pisses too many people off, I'm not to fussed about getting rid of them.

Bazooka_Joe 11-27-2002 02:19 PM

Multiple sigs aren't a problem. Maybe a limit of 3? Cuz, yours are fine, but if I added one more of equal size, it would get too big.

Zoner 11-27-2002 02:23 PM

In terms of download time, I'm not sure if 2 50K images would load quicker than one 100K one.

In terms of physical landscape on the screen, multiple sigs are just as bad as one big one, in my opinion...600 pixels is 600 pixels no matter how you dice it.
