Any "old skool" arcade gamers left?
Just wondering how many of you remember playing streetfighter 2 and mortal kombat in the arcades?
This should bring back some memories :) http://homepage.ntlworld.com/gerald.mar ... arcade.WMV Anyone have the same experiances with the streetfighter coin-op? Over here it was the same pack of tards crowding the machine every day. YOu were lucky to get a game of it at all unless you were first into the place every day. :) I just play the arcades through mame now. Got sf2 sf2-ce sf2-hyper fighting, mk1 mk2 mk3 and ultimate mk3 :) Could anyone hook me up with the sf2 new challangers or ssf2-turbo mame roms? |
Hell yes i remember playin MK in the arcades. Fun as hell!

Yeha mk2 had that, it was called the dead pool or some shit. Mk1 had the pit where you could uppercut them off into a pit of steel spikes. evil: |
Yea i loved those levels. I like how in MK3 you could uppercut someone thru the roof.

I never really liked the mk series after 2. The whole idea behind mk was blood death and realistic looking characters. MK2 introduced friendships and babalities. Then mk3 came out and the characters looked even more cartooney and i sorta lost intrest. Have mk4 for pc though and its not bad and i got the new deadly alliance game for the cube. happy: |
since when was MK and SF old school? Old school=pac man, donkey kong, lunar lander and frogger baby!

Nah theyre more like archaic skool. biggrin: |
Well, call me ARCHAIC Skool then. My fave coin op was the first Star Wars game with the green wireframe graphics. First wave was destroying tie fighters, then you'd take out the laser towers, and then attack the death star and blow it up.
Fun times, man. Zone |
I actualy preferred the old arcades and the days of the nes\snes\genesis.
Games these days just seem sorta stale in comparrison. Everything was simpler back then and to be honest it was a lot more fun. cry: |
i remember playing mortal kombat in the arcades, but now the arcades are shit holes and the games are like $1 to play, wtf $1 dollar, too much money for my blood cry:
|
Man, I still hook up my orginal Sega and play all the old game! and I still goto the arcades and kick ass!
|
Yeah, when i saw Geralds definition of "old school", i got a chuckle. I was playing pac man and asteroids in the arcade before he was born.
Hey, anyone remember the original Atari? As a matter of fact, i still have the console with a shit load of games. Now THATS old school !! |
