Body Locations - Damage modifers info ?

Anyone know what file contains info on how the different hit locations on the body translate to different amounts of damage?

Would be very helpful for a weapon mod to know how much damage shots to differnt body locations do.

Hey r3

You helped me figure out how to open pk files and edit them. I am having problems doing the same thing for the new pk3 file in the spearhead patch. I have properties to where the read only is not checked but still I cannot seems to save after I change the k98grenade tik file. Any suggestions?

yeah suggest you help me first to return the favour lol

i dunno if i understand you right but you shouldnt be having this problem.
when you want to mod anything all you should be doing is exacting the original file out of the EA pk3s (pak0.pk3 pak1.pk3 etc) modifying the extracted file and then packing it up in your own pk3 that you create. you shouldnt be trying to edit stuff inside the original EA pk3s. by making your own pk3 you can remove the mod to return the game back to original settings..... editing the original pk3s aint good.

Sorry r3

I thought to help ya first but I don't know where specific damage modifiers are located...I don't even know how to open and read the scr's...those are the ones that come up as all those symbols and letters I think for me....I am copying the pk files and putting //my message here to let me know what I changed. i don't even know how to zip stuff up or make it a pk3. Zipping to an archive file and such is a little confusing to me. I have just been copying from the server by ftp, opening with winrar on the desktop, modifying, saving, and drag dropping ftp back to the mainta file. This technique was working until I started working on setting the rifle grenades to over 3 allowed.

not good dude.
working with pk3s is a sinch.... heres what to do.

open the winrar program via start menu and got into options/prefences. change it so the default archive it creates is a zip rather than a rar. also set compression to max blah blah blah.

to create a mod get hold of the EA pk3 like you are doing. browse through the insides of it using winrar but when you fin what you want to edit like p38.tik select it and choose to extract it to your desktop with full path. edit only the extracted file never the original files. after you have finished you can go to your desktop and select the top level directory and choose 'add to zip'. now rename dektop.zip to user-mymod.pk3 and you have a working mod that you can FTP to your server or whatever.

means that when you dont want to use that mod anymore you can just delete/move it rather than edit the changes back out.

suggest you replace the EA pk3s that youve already edited with unaltered ones from another install location.

Tried that but....

I used winzip and was able to save it but the game still only lets us have 3 grenades. It seems like there is a limit built into the game as far as maximum ammo is concerned. I was not able to do more than 6 bazooks/panzer rounds either. I have the tik modified to have 5 k98 rifle grenades. The game still only loads 3.
