Spearhead 2.11 patch and SV_PURE, Problems
I patched the server and my client. Initially I had problems, so I deleted all pk3's not installed by default on the server and reinstalled mohaa, updated to 1.11, installed spearhead and patched to 2.11 on the client. This was done after fully deleting the entire EA Games directory.
When setting the server to sv_pure 1 I have run into various problems. Sometimes it won't let you join the server, console says disconnected for unknown reason. Sometimes it will let you join the server, but then I can not see my weapon nor do the models show when you go to choose your team, I don't know if you can see other players because I don't wait around, I'm trying to fix this. When launching the server with sv_pure 0, this issue disappears and the game runs fine. I am running some dmflags, enabling leaning and the shotgun, can this cause an issue? I will reset dmflags to 0 and let you know. Is anyone running a pure server without issues? |
Seems EA have surpassed themselves again....... the degree of their ineptitude is staggering..........
By the time they fix the f*****g game we'll have all evolved into a higher lifeform. A round of applause for EA ..... |

I've seen dozens of post about sv_pure, so far no one has got it to work without major problems. |
DK666's server doesn't show up in ASE or in the ingame server lists, regardless of filters. I know for the ASE its a matter of adjusting the Filter RudeDog made. But the ingame server list???? Sigh..... Nothing like releasing a patch to patch the patch. Another month? It looks like we will just have to roll it back. oOo:

Hey SD, DK666 hasnt changed any settings on his firewall has he? I have been testing my firewall port forwarding just to see which ports are actually NECESSARY. Without the proper ports the game will not be visible to GSpy or ASE yet still playable via IP. I am wondering if Spearhead requires some additional ports to be opened for the browsers to see it........went to the EA site and they say that you have to open:
Allow TCP Port 12203-12218 Allow UDP Port: 12300 Allow UDP Port: 12203-12218 Now I have never had to open the first set of ports (TCP 12203-12218) before for AlliedAssault (only the UDP ports). Maybe that would help? |
