Need help with my computer.....!!@#$%@^$^%&&^%*&

ok I screwed this .rar file by trying to open it using winzip. Now it show this winzip icon on the file and when I try to open it says winzip cannot open this file becasue it is an invalid archive.
I delete it and try to get a new one from the net but that icon just appears. So does that mean this .rar file is corrupted forever and cannot be used or the icon for the file just has a winzip picture on it but it is not corrupted and can still be used. If it is corrupted how do I change it back to its orignal state?

in explorer: tools, folder options, file types. just remove .rar and when it opens again select winrar

What OS are you using? I have Win98 and there seems to be no folder options in tool for explorer. Any other method?
