FireWall will not go on under Windows XP Home edition
 

I need help on getting my firewall back on for XP. Pop ups appear on my desktop when playing bf1942. I get this error when trying to enable it. An error occured while internet connection sharing was being enabled. The dependency service or group failed to start? Could the XP service pack 1 be causing this?

XP has a built in firewall try checking if its disabled

I know i go to start, settings, network connections, advanced, and the firewall is there and when i go to turn it on that error just comes up. I tried my ISP no luck there. How do i turn it on besides going through all that?
