Yet another rant...

I know a lot of people on this forum think those who run servers should be able to do whatever the hell they want, but some of it is ridiculous. I was just playing on the ]RaCo[ server, and this Allied guy got into the sewer really quick, which sometimes happens.

So I said, wow you got there really quick.

He said yeah.

I got kicked.

I tried to rejoin to say WTF. And promptly got kicked again.

You server admins gotta take the bugs outta your ass. I mean, come the f*** on. That is completely unacceptable.

12-13-2002 11:05 PM

you're not serious are you?

that server must be total n00bsville!

I know I'm staying away.

12-14-2002 12:32 AM

i know tons of server admins rather kick the good players then put up with the whining of n00bs....

Captain_McCusker 12-14-2002 12:59 AM

Fact of the matter is that what you think doesn't matter. Since these people pay for the server, it's really up to them who they want to play and who they don't. Since this person doesn't know you, he has every right to kick your ass of his server. I would do the same thing, given the right circumstances.
you're not serious are you?[/quote:14390]

I am absolutely serious. And the only reason I was going back in was to let them know that I didnt have a problem with him getting there that fast, just that I hadnt expected it.
I would do the same thing, given the right circumstances.[/quote:14390]

Then you suck as well, and I have no interest in playing on your server. Apparently there are many server admins who think anyone who joins their server should just STFU. Well, not me. Get a grip, juvvies

server admin

if you dont care why are you ranting about it ? like the man said. like it or not the server admin has one finger on the trigger. the other on the kick and ban button. players..especially someone new to the server should as you put it.."STFU" and just play the game until people get used to you and then you can comment if you need to and probably wont have a problem. admins watch new players very closely at first to see what kind of person they are.you may not like it but THATS JUST THE WAY IT IS.deal with it or go back to SP....BUTCHER

I would just like to point out that on a full server, you may sometimes be kicked for no reason. There is a reason, though, and that is to make space for friends or clanmates of the admin. Sometimes even I forget to announce to people that I'm kicking for space when I'm in a hurry. And if I am in a rush to get people in, I may not take the time to stop and explain. It's not anything that's common.. I think I've done it once. Just saying what might have happened. Shouldn't be handled that way, but ya never know.

Dr. Deleto 12-14-2002 02:20 AM

Thier server, thier rules, its pretty simple. No offense but until you help pay for the server then you have no right to tell the ones who do pay for it how to run it. much less who they can and cannot kick.

Good, I don't want you on my server, then. If your attitude is that everyone should accomidate you, then you're going to find very few places that want you to stick around. You're the one who need's to get a grip. If you decide that you're going to host a party, you're not going to be happy with some jagoff who comes to your house and messing things up or talks shit about you. You would have every right to kick that person out as I have every right to kick every last person on my server. Don't like it? Then don't play there. Chances are you'll get banned anyway.

Punk_Bitch 12-14-2002 04:22 AM

Our server (hosts) justs kicked the laggers. Fast paced, no lag, cable is the way to go!

You are right, but it wasnt full.

You dont seem to understand that all I said to them was: Wow, you got there fast. I understand that if I talk *shit* to people, that will likely get me kicked from a server, so I refrain from being unpleasant. I dont understand the attitude that I am not allowed to say anything at all. More admins should make their servers private, because if its available to all, then that implies that everyone is welcome, but that just is not the case anymore. oOo:

There are plenty of places where I go regularly to play MP, just that those places are empty sometimes. So I have to go in search of servers with players in them sometimes. But with the prevailing attitude being such as it is, then maybe I will stop playing MOH MP completely.

lol we all hate a console nazi, Iv had to put up with similar stuff in the past Thermopyle, its really annoying your right.

Power corrupts in any form, specially in the hands of a child, which is alot of server Admins unfortunately.

hehe nm forget about it m8

vVolf 12-14-2002 04:01 PM

Yeah, once i got kicked for saying "Hey". Its really stupid. If your hosting, dont kick people just because your in a bad mood. Its stupid.

Dr. Deleto 12-14-2002 04:36 PM

just last night I had a guy join our server and immediately start teamkilling. I noticed he was doing it after he had already hit a -5 score. I simply asked him to stop teamkilling. When his reply came back as something like "Fuck you fag" I told him that if he did it again i was going to boot him. needless to say he did it again so I kicked him. Now this guy came back 5 or 6 more times continuosly changing his name and teamkilling. Finally I got sick of it and told him flat out "Look man, I don't kick by name I kick by ip. So guess what you are now......BANNED!" Now if you want to whine about people kicking you from their server for no reason then maybe you should think about the fact that we admins have to put up with shit like this all the time and are becoming quite sick of even letting it happen. Ussually it's the person who makes that odd comment about any little thing that ends up turning into the new server bitch. Maybe they thought you were about to cause problems so decided not to give you that chance. Now even I will admit that they probably jumped the gun on that decision, hell I even warn the people who have blatantly disobeyed the server rules that they will be kicked after 1 more infraction. but the point still stands that when shit like that happens I personally have to stop playing the game (which is what the server is for) and deal with it. Next time instead of stressing over who kicked you for what, just go on into another server. Your just letting them beat you since it takes even more time out of your gaming to come here and post about it.

vVolf 12-14-2002 05:23 PM

Well, if you need to kick loosers like that, its fine Dr. But normal everyday people get banned for nothing, its shitty.
