HOW TO GET MORE FPS
 

k, i have a gf4 ti 4600 128 mb card, p4 2.26 ghz, 120 gb hd, and 512 mb rd ram.....yet i only pull around 90-95fps, and 60 on xraods. WTF is up with that. People in my clan get a lot more that that and some dont even have the same card. I dont overclock or anytihng, but i wanna know how the hell i can raise the fps. I run texture comression off, and all my settings on high.
So plz help me out and post any solutions or other sites that might be of some help. thx

com max_fps 99 is the deafult, but u can just change that cap.

drinkingbeers it comes down to how you arr running the game... if u got it all maxed out and they are running on lowest they will get a lot more fps then you. just need to tweak it until u find a happy medium between detail and fps.

You are all whores in my book. I can only get between 15 to 30 fps depending on the map. Please for the love of God tell me what is the best cheapest computer configuration I can get to make my fps go up!

What are your specs now?

You lucky lucky person....cant play crossroads(fps are ridiculous)
I dont know but i would think that at 60fps anymore than that is not needed to have any real advantage,think ping comes into play then.

You prolly have Vsync on. Assuming your monitor has a refresh rate of 100htz at what ever resolution you are running.

The simple fact is how ever is that no matter what your FPS ocunter is showing, your game is not running faster than your refresh rate.

Your counter could say 200fps, but your refresh rate could only be 60htz, so you would get about 62fps no matter what your counter says.

With this you'll also experiance clipping. Thats when the walls look like they are moving apart, or certain textures are not moving smoothly with the rest of the textures. This is because your vid card is rendering more frames than your monitor can show, so your monitor misses a few frames.

Oddly enough, I've turned my sound quality down from high to medium, and that gave me an extra 10-15 fps. That really helped, as some maps were around 15 fps.

O no you only get a pathetic 90-95! Dude I get around 20-30! MY freind get's around 90-95, I don't see whats so wrong with it though. Seems like a resonable FPS.

i just got a new radeon 7500, upgrade from a gforce 2 mx, not a huge difference and the monitor settings are really fucked. 1028 x 800 or whatever is the max res setting and its killing me.

I have a Radeon 8500 128 meg gfx card. I run typically 95 fps most every map except snowy which is like 50ish. The last week I been getting HUGE frame hits all at once, where my fps goes all the way to 5 and then goes back up to about 95. My wife is on the same comp i have running the same card with the same drivers and has no problems. We are running with 1000 meg of ram on each comp, and our connection is to die for. Trying to eliminate problems I reinstalled MOHAA. Updated to 1.11, and am running no mods at all. When my framerate "dies" she gets none of it so I know its not a lag issue. I run no other progs when im playing, and neither does she.

Does anyone out there have a clue what would make my fps drop all the way to 5 from 95 ?

I thought the lower the FPS is the slower your game will rn but the higher the smoother. I don't now my FPS. I run MOHAA on a Celeron 433, Intel 810 chipset ,160 RAM, 20 gig drive. Very crappy hu. I run the game in meduim graphic and it fairly smooth.... eek: some what.
