Forced, one-time MP spawns - - Possible?
 
I'm wondering IF and mostly HOW to force the first 4 or 5 Allied players to spawn in one specific/stategic location, then the other players in different locations further to the rear.

What I have is the administration building in my Tractor Works map. I want 4 or 5 Allies to spawn immediately in the building close to German lines, then the other Allies will spawn to the rear. The spawns for the first guys are important to the flow of the map and would remain 'open' to respawns until the Germans enter the second floor of the building, triggering the spawns inside to be removed. Even if the Allies regain the building, I don't want the spawns to work again. Any ideas? Even if you have a small number of players, I think it's important that the first couple spawn here at least once.

With scripting, you can use the '$<spawnpos targetname> enable' and 'disable' commands to achieve what you want.

Use the player array to find out how many players there are on each side.

Thanks JV.... that sounds easy enough IF I knew what the heck I was doing with scripting like that! I was thinking that I could put a trigger around the first four that as soon as a player spawned and moved it would 'activate' the other spawn areas and allow other players to spawn. Any idea of tutorials for that?

Triggers would be a good idea, as long as there are enough players and the triggers are large enough.

A more bugfree method is much more complicated to script and at the edge of what's possible with the scripting language.

Anyway, sorry don't have tutorials, but take a look at the Omaha beach multiplayer script. That works alike.

maybe I should just put a radio or something in that one building and tie it's destruction to the local spawns.... that could be done with #set couldn't it? I've looked at the Omaha script..............and got a headache. Thanks though JV. Appreciate you chasing me here and at .map!
