Dedicated server not showing in UK server list at gamespy
I have a dedicted server running mohaa or mohsh. i am after the command to put in the config file to allow gamespy to filter my
server, so when i check the list servers in my country box then my server will show up. Cherrs in advance FUBAR |
Fubar,
I am having the same problem too, I have a dedicated server running both AA & SH. When AA is running no problems, I can see it in GS, ASE, and in game browser. When I switch the server over to SH, I can only see it from ASE, no GS or in game browser. There is a link over at http://www.mohadmin.com about this: http://www.mohadmin.com/nuke/modules.ph ... opic&t=595 Basically what the link says is try to add the following lines to your server.cfg file: set sv_gamespy 1 seta dedicated 1 seta ui_dedicated 1 set sv_master1 "mohmaster.2015.com" set sv_master2 "master0.gamespy.com" I have done this and reset my server but it has NOT helped, it still is not visible. I have submitted the problem to EA support and when/if i get an answer for this I will pass it along. If you figure out something, please pass it along too, as it appears that several people are having the same issue. |
Argon,
this is what i got told from gamespy forum, i have done everything but the ports bit, i don't quite understand that- is it ntl my isp that is the problem? Okway . Please answer us the following questions ^.^ Are you behind any software firewall like ZoneAlarm or BlackIce or are you using any monitoring anti virus applications like Norton AntiVirus or McAfee VirusScan ? Are you behind any proxy or router hardware ? Are you using windows XP ? Okway . In the following you will find the solutions for your problems. Same color is for same question. If a question is answered with NO , dun care to read the answer ^.^ Well , make sure that you have set the security level to LOW and that you have allowed mohaa.exe to contact the internet and to act as a server. Be aware of the fact that setting the security level to low might be a security risk for your system ^.^ Please make sure that you have disabled the required ports for GSA and the extra one for Mohaa hosting . This should be port 29960 ^.^ The other ports are : 6667 (IRC) 3783 (Voice Chat Port) 27900 (Master Server UDP Heartbeat) 28900 (Master Server List Request) 29900 (GP Connection Manager) 29901 (GP Search Manager) 13139 (Custom UDP Pings) 6515 (Dplay UDP) 6500 (Query Port) When you do not know how to open those ports , just tell us the name and company of your router and we will tell you how to do this. For more information about port opening you should also read your routers manual ^.^ XP contains a built-in firewall. To disable it, go Start -> Control Panel -> Network Connections, double-click on your internet connection, click the "Properties" button, go to the "Advanced" tab, and uncheck the box that says "Protect my computer and network by limiting or preventing access to this computer from the Internet". |

Fubar,
Thanks for the info I will forward this to my server provider and make sure the routers are set correctly. Hopefully this will take care of the problem. Oh ya here's my response from EA: [quote:3aa3f]Response (Box Emily O.) - 12/16/2002 03:02 PM Sorry, we do not have much information on server configuration. If you want more assistance, the best place to look is on the internet, as it can be a great source of information.[/quote:3aa3f] Ya, thank for nothing EA!!! Losers! Anyways, Fubar if you get your server working let me know, I'll let you know if I make any progress |

Argon and Fubar, have either of you tried adding "set ui_dedicated 1" to the command line? That's how my server is set up and it works find from ASE and GS. |
