How does your clan train?

I know many clans visit this page. Since most clans have some form of practice or training I thought I would ask how each of you train. I have seen some training maps, do any of you use those on a regular basis? Besides going into a locked server and playing against each other, do you do any other drills or exercises you find particulary useful or fun etc?

We practice on the stock maps since they are the ones we use in matches.
The hardest part of having a practice is getting everyone together for it.
Another important part is learning the correct way to use a chat program.

You should also take some time and have everyone discuss what works best for each member on each map. The only bad thing is after you share all your little tips and tricks for each map. You can't use them against your team mates any more. <grin>

It's very important to learn how to work as a team. There is a huge difference between playing as a group of individuals and actually using teamwork.

exactly that method forces you to form new tactics and new defenses. thus making your clan even better.

I was a part of two different clans, and unfortunately this is true.

This is most important. There is no way to beat an organized defense if your offense is not organized.

Teamspeak is the best that I ever used.

The thing I always felt was missing from the clans I was in was not having a debriefing after a ladder match and discussing what went right and what went wrong. The best things to practice are things that will improve your weaknesses; the best way to identify weaknesses is in a ladder match. I know [WTF] did this and improved very quickly early on.

train? we just play the match... we don't need practice... we're like a bunch of iversons.

Ahh.. gotcha.

Wow I'm really suprised by the lack of response to this. Either most clans don't train, or they are afraid to say how they train. Not even wanting to mention the training maps, if they use them. My guess is, most clans just shut the server down and play each other. Has it's advnatages, but I could see that getting a bit old.

DEVILS ADVOCATE 12-18-2002 09:16 AM

we train against another clan called VS-Uk. that way we both get the same out of it

Bazooka_Joe 12-18-2002 11:54 AM

MOMMA, you recieved alot of responces, but you might get more from posting this in the Squads & Clans forums.

MOMMA 12-18-2002 03:38 PM

Yeah, that's a good idea. But I appreciate everyone that took time to respond here.
