Realism Mod, Ares5-based

Hi all,

My realism mod (based on Ares5 for kickback) is ready for release. The MOHAA version can be d/l'ed [url=http://www.student.kuleuven.ac.be/~m9815423/mohaafiles/CITRealism_MOHAAversion.zip:d586d]here[/url:d586d], and the MOHSH version here[/url:d586d].

A printout of the readme ic included at the bottom of my post.

Any feedback on the mod would be highly appreciated...

Enjoy
Fox!

================================================== ======

Realism mod as used by the 'Combat Infiltration Team'.
Based on "Ares 5" and personal research.

Details of changes:
===================

- Kickback added to all weapons (Ares based)
- Changed G43 back into KAR98 sniper rifle on demand
- Changed starting ammo load of all weapons accroding to
historical info.
- Adjusted rate of fire according to historical info
- Toned down SMG accuracy (based on Ares 5)
- Movement rate calculated based on acual weight of each
weapon
- Corrected clip size for Sten MII (32 rounds instead of 30)
and PPSH (70 rounds instead of 46). The PPSH actually had
71 rounds in each drum, but it was impossible to get this
number of bullet displayed correctly on the HUD ammo bar;
thus rounded down to 70 round/drum.
- Changed weapon damage according to calibre and muzzle
velocity.
- Increased ROF to let it appear closer to realistic values
in-game (only for 1.11b and 2.11b)

Installation:
=============

- Place the appropriate .pk3 in mohaa\main for Allied Assault or
in mohaa\mainta for Spearhead
- To uninstall, simply delete the .pk3

Known Issues:
=============

- PPSH and Sten MII cause a graphical error because of increased
clipsize when the client does not have the realism mod
installed, making the guns fire half bullets. :)

I made ares based realism while back I love it.

nice work

The ppsh damage is not accurate, it used a .45 ACP round, like the thompson.

@Redsoccerdevil:

The damage on the PPSH is correct: the PPSH fired 7.62mm rounds, while the Tommy Gun pumped out 11mm bullets. These are the calibres of all SMG's:

11 - Tommy Gun
9 - Sten MII, MP40
7.62 - PPSH

tommy used .45 cal bullets

i don't know much about guns but tommy shoots .45 cal bullets........

ATUCIT_Fox 12-21-2002 05:21 AM

.45 ACP rounds has it's dimensions expressed in inches:

.45 inch x (25.4 mm/inch) = 11.43 mm = (rounded to) 11 mm
