What is telefragging?

When I see "someone telefragged someone" what does that mean?

Captain_McCusker 12-21-2002 01:53 AM

It means that they were standing where someone else was going to spawn, I believe. And that in itself becomes a kill?

Cool Fool 12-21-2002 01:55 AM

Yep. Kind of gay...

MOMMA 12-21-2002 01:57 AM

Ahhh.. ok.. so it's kind of a glitch or an accident. Two people in the same location.

Captain_McCusker 12-21-2002 02:00 AM

Some people actually make a point of doing it... just go hang in a fixed spawn and wait... rack up the kills.

LionHeart 12-22-2002 01:20 AM

Telefragging - a glitch, the act of tossing a grenade by a player on the same team. Then switching teams before the grenade explodes, the grenade will then kill any players from your original side in the proximity of the shrapnel. Generally you’ll encounter “telefragging” in objective, where there is fixed spawns ie The Hunt.

Lionheart, there is no definition of it dood. Didnt sound so smart. You = WRONG.....McCusker = RIGHT.

That's what I thought, too. But like you, I was corrected. I think what you describe basically boils down to clever tk'ing when FF is off. Guys like that, though, should be shot, point-blank range, in the nut sack and then hung from their nipples off the Empire State Building. What you describe supposedly has a fix, I think by Dog Meat even. But my personal fix works so much better - BAN THE MOFO!!

Sorry Boo, he got ya, heh. But, you are still right.

Telefragged derived from Half-Life. It was a glitch in the early MP version that would crash your game when another player spawned on top of you at the same time, as Boo said. It was a common thing in alot of MP games; Quake 2, Jedi Knight, Half-Life, etc.

But in the MOH community, it means what Lion said.

No it does not. When u spawn on someone and they are rite there, what does it say? Its says "SO and SO was telefragged". I know, ive seen it many many times.

Joe you are wrong heh. I've explained this many times before, and when you throw a grenade and switch teams, that is Team Killing. When you do what Boo said, it will actually show up in the log on top as a "Telefrag". So if you stand in one spot when you spawn, and someone tries to spane there, you will telerag them.

TRªPT™ 12-22-2002 12:24 PM

Thank you Hollywood. Joe, im not tryin to be like some a-hole or w/e, but i just knew what i was talking about. But anyway, ill tt yall lata.
