DOS HELP! again
 

ok i deleted the ntoskrnl.exe and now i want to put the old one back!

ok so how do i do that from dos, the old file is in the d:I836\ntoskrnl.exe (cd drive) , and i want to put it back to c:\windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe

so how do i do this in DOS?

do i do it right at the c: or do i do it at the c:\windows\system32?

and what do i type? is it---------- copy d:I836\ntoskrnl.exe c:\windows\system32\

ok i tryed

c:windows\system32>copy d:\I836\ntoskrnl.exe* and i got this
copy does not support wildcards or directory copies

and i tryed

c:windows\system32>copy d:\I836\ntoskrnl.exe and i got
the system cannot find the file specified


so how do i do it?

i tryed

copy ntoskrnl.exe c:windows\system32

and still nothing

Like I said before, you have to be in the directory you want to copy the file from, or specify the entire directory if you wish. The structure is...

ex- c:\copy c:\documents\sample.doc a:\temp

if you are already in the directory that the file you want to copy is in, then just type the file as the source and the full destination path

copy <source> <destination>
