Gerald Loen (owner of a site which provided information on precisely how to conduct a DoS attack) was later sentenced to 8 months in prison (maximum was 5 years, he bargained by selling out a small ring of malicious hackers) and 3 years of prohibation. A civil case was filed but settled out of court on unreleased terms. Oh, and my favorite part. Since his release, no internet connection has entered or left his house without the FCC monitoring it.

Guess what all you cheats, we've been doing our homework, reading up in the law books. We've spoken with a judge who will not be involved in the case, and she agrees that server crashes are Denial of Service attacks. As soon as we've finished collecting the logs and compiled records to be verified with the FCC for truthfulness, my colleagues and I will be raising both criminal and civil charges against the four major cheat sites. These charges will include, but not be limited to, Denial of Service attacks (spawning to crash servers) and criminal negligence.

We have the lawyers. We have the legal precedence. We have the courts.

I'll be emailing the site admins and their web hosts with a P.O. Box once it is set up after the New Year. They can use to contact me via USPS, unless they choose to resolve the matter through email.

So unless one of them comes up with a good argument after I e-mail them, the charges should be filed no later than mid-Feb, depending on how expeditious the FCC is in verifying everything.

are the sites you are going after, the ones that show people how to crash servers? b/c that is understandable. but if its regular moh cheat sites, then thats nuts.

I will not be releasing the names of the sites, because legally I have to contact each before doing so. However, at this time, MPC is not included, unless the people reviewing the site find the information listed there.

nah. MPC forbids any kind of information about crashing servers, and those who post about it get banned.

But then again, MPC also blows goat balls. So who cares. I'd die laughing if you got shut down due to a law suit, lol

I spoke with the same judge again this morning, and she agrees that it would not only be possible to file charges, but to easily win in a case where these sites would be charged with harassment. This would be possible because what they provide directly and adversely infringes upon other players' rights. And since none of these sites are password protected, none of their lame attempts at a disclaimer are worth anything in a court of law.

Like it has always been said, a cheater never wins. Especially once they think they're smart.

dude what kind of dumbass whore of a judge are you talking about harassment? For one do you know the time you would get for it.. None!! instant probation and restraining order. Two since they are not talking to you and actually harassing you (eg calling your work place all the time) its not harassment. Hell thats like if you called me a cheater and i sued you for slander.. its pathetic.

Dos hacking is completely different from hacking a game server and thus the case you mention has no relevence. It was made in 1999 when that was what they were cracking down on because of the fact of the governments lower undertsanding of the technology.

And reading law books? fuck get a life. I have been to law libraries (one time it was during a case to look up my rights as a defendant) and belive me they arent tiny books. If you have been reading these books then who is doing your fucking day job? Not to mention the amount of money you would get, (basicly none since you are saying you are filing criminal not civil) is so tiny that you waste the courts time and prison space for some tiny hackers.

The definition of harassment includes the repeated and consistent infringment of rights.

Most countries among our allies (Canada, Germany, etc) enforce "hacking" laws, even if the offenses are in the United States.

If you knew how to use a law library, you'd know that it only took me half an hour, because I knew for what I was looking.

I only intend to file civil suits if for some unforeseen reason the criminal charges fail. I have no interest in profiting from this. Only shutting down the sites.

well guess what dipshit i am both a non cheater and an educated person. One who knows the fact that it is nearly impossible to get someone from one country to another for criminal cases. Hell up here in canada there was a murderer from the states who we didnt ship down for a good 10 years.

The fact is you're not going to be able to stop all the hack sites. It's a waste of tax payers money and court time to even try.

As for extradition, I never said extradition. These countries enforce "hacking" laws through their own court systems and with their own punishments.

yes and you unfortunatly can only imply and give the most local authorities in that country information. I know for a fact cops here wouldn't deal with it.
