Are you running through a router or a hub?
|
How the heck did this turn into a hub/router thing????
[DI99].L.Cpl.aLeX - If you are sharing a IP address, I don't think you can be on at the same time, game wise? You can share the bandwidth, but when you are logging onto another server, ie MOHAA/SP servers, it only recognizes the one IP, thus it only thinks there is one system assigned to that address, and blocks the other? That make sense? I'm not an expert on networks, but that's my crack at it. Captain Canuck M16: |
I think waht he means is if both computers(at the home) are connected to a hub/router, they both can play sharing the bandwith at the same server.
You will however need to have the MOH disk running on both puters. The Hub/Router can be had for about $100, and set up in about 20 minutes or less. My $.02 |
Contact your provider. Big cable?DSL providers, like Road Runner and Optimum Online have a feature for people with more than 1 PC. You can purchase an additional IP address for the other computer for an extra $5 a month. Then you can buy a small hub to connect them both to the internet.
If they will not do this, you will probably need to split the connection using a router. If you go for the hub/router, I suggest Linksys brand. Check http://www.pricewatch.com for good pricing. |
