hey, 2015 can answer this best im sure.
is there any way possible to disable just the gun smoke generated by firing a round? besides that the game runs perfectly smooth, but once i get into a fight, if i were to fire say the colt off.... which has alot of smoke it seems, as soon as that smoke comes out my game turns to total mush it must be something weird to ONLY get slow when smoke comes on the screen, at that only gun smoke.... grenade explosions are fine it seems thanks, ------------------ ----Savour Since 1982---- |
try disabling volumetric smoke? thats teh only thing i can think of.
|
no, thanks though
from what i can tell, and from reading volmetric smoke is just that pretty smoke that hangs around after a grenade goes off.... looks REALLY nice i must add sorta hovers above the ground ------------------ ----Savour Since 1982---- |
ah ha, i see
i don't think there would be a way to turn gunsmoke off only because it would give you an advantage over the other players (easier to see while firing). Its just like most of the time you can't turn the gun fire sprite off because it inhibits your vision as well as acts as eyecandy, and you would gain an advantage. |
excuse me?
i suggest you back right up now son. first off dont ever accuse me of trying to cheat. second, this is a legit problem im having, i agree it does sound like im trying to cheat, and yes it WOULD give me an unfair advantage. but this would be more of the sake of SINGLE player than multiplayer, which im sure will have server side variables in place that make sure no one is cheating. ------------------ ---Saviour Since 1982--- |
why do people have to screw around with a game and say its to make it run better when it is blatent cheating
|
Baltant cheating... I agree...
I get wet at the end of my willy when I see a guy blast of his BAR from a window... the smoke gives it a NIIIICE look http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/biggrin.gif yummy... ------------------ Animis Opibusque Parati http://www.jagged.dk/sniper.jpg |
upgrade?
i JUST upgraded 2 months ago... and im in university, sorry but not all of us get cash handed to us from our parents left-right-centre and somehow i doubt a duron 1ghz 512 meg ram geforce 2 mx 200 64 meg its not really chugging to keep up... ------------------ ---Saviour Since 1982--- |
I dont even see how no gun smoke = advantage. The crosshairs are far enough away from the tip of the gun so that the smoke doesn't block my view. Only with the bazooka does that happen, but it takes so long to reload, it doesn't matter. I think you guys are on crack.
My advice to you Jesus is turn down the effects setting. I had sort of the same problem. Everytime I fired a round, my fps shot down. Now it stays constant after I turned the effect to medium. ------------------ "See that hill over there? The one with the 88s and 42s? blatent cheating? WTF! How is disabling the smoke that comes out of your gun so that you can play the game smoother to be regarded as blatent cheating??
you're so full of shit it's unbelievable! |
no no, i agree
it would be cheating it would allow me to see clearly after every shot while everyone else would have smoke... and such disabling there view i agree it would be cheating... but that the fact still remains that the gun smoke slows my computer to a complete crawl each and every time |
Me thinks it's just time to upgrade pal.
In Qauke 3 you can't disable smoke either. I had the same problem you are having when i had my old computer while playing Quake 3. The rocket trails would slow my computer to a crawl. But it was nothing i could do about it. this is the same engine, so i don't think it's even coded in. It would be a clear advantage legit or not to disbale smoke. ------------------ My Real Doll broke in 2 days. Thus the pain I Bring-ith!! |
