How difficult is it to modify mod files?

Hello mates!

First of all, my clan uses the CKR mod with adjusted run and walk speeds (we're a tactical clan.)

There are some issues I have with the weapons that I'd like to fix myself, but I'm not sure how hard this would be. Maybe you master crafters can help me out! biggrin:

-The Walther P-38 fires too slow. I would like to increase ROF.
-I would like to restrict the K98k to reloading only when the mag. is empty
-I would like to increase muzzle jump on all weapons, so after they're fired, their point of aim changes each time. In essence, more recoil affect and muzzle jump to keep people from locking onto one spot and clicking the fire button with no further adjustments.

Is what I'm asking for hard to do, or do you think, with a little help, you all could assist me?

very easy make a folder then extrat ckr then edit it

{BdG} Jochen Heiden 01-01-2003 02:50 PM

Pardon?

That's extremely vague.

I know nothing about editing!

I don't have a clue how to do that. Can you maybe explain how this is done?

each wepon has a tiki file (opened with notepad) this contains all the information about accuracy and kick and muzzel velocity RoF and so on.

If you extract the CKR file (winzip/pakscape ect.) them modify the tiki file and save with the smae name then repak exactly as it was this should work.

As for values for each of these i have no knowlage but my best suggestion would be to get a second realism mod and copmpare the valuse between the 2 and see how that is put together.

if you need any help just post again and i'm sure people will be glad to help.

MANY! thanks!

I am going to open up this shizz right now and see what I can do. If I run into any issues I'll be sure to call back.

How to crack open .pk3?

Actually I do have a problem.

CKR is in a pk3. I don't see any of these tiki files.

How do I get into the CKR.pk3 file to edit what's inside of them?

you open it with winzip doqwnload a trial version free from [url:a9533]http://www.winzip.com[/url:a9533] open it then hit extract to a folder on your desk top.

To change the variables you want is easy enough.

If you want BAR to fire faster change the rate setting.

If you look at all the words like
DM Ammo: 20 well chanign that will give you more ammo in the clips etc:

Just takes a while to figure out what each means.

I use http://www.textpad.com to edit all SCR and TIK files very good program and free :)
