edit the localization.txt tutorial
some people asked for my help on this, thought i might make it public
i am going to assume you've never made a mod, so here it is step by step: 1)create a folder in your main/mainta (whichever game you want it for) folder, and call it global 2) inside global you need to post the localization.txt file in there 3) open up localization.txt (you will notice 2 rows and they each say the same thing) 4) the row to your left identifies the message, and your row to the right is where you can edit it. 5) heres my localization.txt { "PPSH SMG" "SUOMI SMG" } ^^changed the name of the gun to suomi. 6) now if you want to slim the file down you can delete all the lines you DID NOT edit 7) exit and save, go back to your main/mainta folder 8) right click your "Global" folder 9) hit add to zip 10) just hit i agree when win zip pops up 11) now you must put the path directory for the gun in your main\mainta folder, and it must be rename to .pk3 12) here is what the default path winzip will pull up >>>C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\MOHAA\mainta\maps.zip<<< 13) edit it to C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\MOHAA\mainta\MyLocalization.pk3 14) this mod is for spearhead, but for mohaa it would be >>>C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\MOHAA\main\Localization.pk3<<< 15) just hit add, and you have just edited your localization, yay! |
yes but would it work server side or is it just client side?
|
both
|
actually only a few will for for client Such as renaming your gun and the message
"You killed Mr. X" to something like "You murdred Mr. X in cold blood' will aear on client side |
even better "You Wasted - Mr. Tea"
|
before you do all that shit you have to cut and paste the localization.txt into another .txt doc then edit. save.
