Spearhead Realism Mod Help
I'm in the process of creating a Realism mod for Spearhead, which will (as far as can be allowed by the game physics) accurately depict the "real life" rates of fire. Adjusted so far are the Thompson (700r/pm), Mp40 (500r/pm), Sten MkII (450 r/pm), BAR (500r/pm), Stg44 (600r/pm), MG42 (1200 r/pm)- both static and portable, and PPSh-41 (900r/pm)- this now has a 71 round drum mag. These do actually fire at there correct rates.
But I am in need of some information. I have the rof for the K98k and G43 (15 and 30 r/pm respectively), but I'm lacking sources for the M1 Garand, Springfield M1903 A1, Lee-Enfield MkIII No.4, Mosin Nagant 1930, Tokarev STV40, as well as the pistols. The other thing I'm trying to achieve is accurate ammo loadouts. I know the US rifleman had a 10 pouch belt which would give him 80 rounds for the M1 and 50 rounds for the Springfield. And I know the German infantryman carried 8 ammo pouches, which would give the MP40 256 rounds and the Stg44 240 rounds. But again I'm lacking sources for the others. I have exhausted my own library, spent hours in the local public library to no avail, and for once the net has failed me. So any information recieved would be a great help. Any information given can either be posted here, or e-mailed to me at m.walpole67@btinternet.com Thank you in advance for any assistance received. |
Addition
There is some other information I require as regards my Realism mod for Spearhead.
Does anyone know the weight (approximately) of equipment carried by infantrymen/paratroops during WWII. Some of the books I've looked give a nice breakdown of equipment, but no weights. This should be based on a standard (ish) loadout, incorparating weapon, ammo, webbing/belts, grenades, and possibly backpack. This information will be used to adjust the movement speeds. I know paratroops jumped with an excess equipment than they actually carried into battle, so it would need to be battle ready rather than pre, or post jump. Thank you again for any help received, in advance. Any information can be posted here, or e-mailed to me at m.walpole67@btinternet.com |
blimey thats a lot of detail.
but i did not think you could sdjust individual characters movement speeds. because in that way where the feck does the pilot and the sas guy keep every thibg damn big pockets |

SH has no gameplay simply one guy couldbeat the other team, no teamwork involved at all. |
No you can't adjust the weights based on the different characters, I wish you could. But then that would leave the SAS guy, the pilot, or any other non-uniformed character seriously outgunned. The majority of players I play against/with seem to prefer the uniformed character skins though.
As for the weight issue, I would have to create some form of happy medium to accomodate the the various kit issues. Which I thought I was going to have to do anyway. But if it doesn't work very well I'll just base the movement speeds around the individual weapon weights. So far I've put a lot of research into aquiring the information I do have, but even my resources are limited ... lol. |
