charger resto project

in case some of u werent here or u dont remember, I hit a deer new years eve with my dodge charger and thought I'd post whats been going on so far...

we took the engine out and went through completely looking at it and we fixed the body (for the most part)...

we were inspecting the undercarrage and found that it as extremely rusty.
we pulled on the gas tank and it snapped right off, gas everywhere. the undercarrage is so rusted its not really safe to drive it because I can see the frame is very rusted.

I'm looking for a new car tho but my charger remains in my possesion... any suggestions? a classic mopar is about to be scrapped here.

Thank you.

My suggestion is an El Camino. A buddy had a 1978 El Camino SS. Metallic gray/red two-tone paint, custom dual Flowmaster exhaust and a nicely detailed 350 under the hood. We smoked a lot of 5.slows and broke a lot of traffic laws in that baby.

ahh! dont even mention that engine.... I heard it had a huge list of mechanical problems... my dad told me about his old chevy blazer, plymoth fury, and others who had that engine and he said they were the worse vehicles he has ever owned.

I was thinking just buying a cheap car for now... or if I find one for a decent price maybe a 70s mercury or ford... alot of power AND quality... beat that. lol

Say what?!? The 350 is a staple of hotrodding, man!! They made soooo many that parts (OEM and aftermarket) are everywhere (and cheap). There's so much you can do with them: bore it out and use a larger crank to make a 383 Stroker, for instance.

If I could pick one engine to use in a muscle car it would be the 350!!

The 350 is a typical GM block. I don't believe any Chrysler Products ever came stock with 350s. The 350 is one of the best engines ever made. Incredibly easy to work on and able to produce a LOT of power. The Chevy small block 350 is famous for running long and strong.
