Yeha i know this should be in history but i need a quick response for a pprojct im working on.

The quote contained the words "the guns are now silent there can be no turning back only going forward"

Not sure if the words are quite right but i believe it was an american general at the end of ww2. Anyone know the full quote?

The guns are silent now is a poem from the civil war, but the rest, i dunno.
