Small SMALL localization.txt progress
Well, I was messing around with localization.txt for SH today, and I noticed a few things:
1) the file MOH:SH loads is cloned. If you delete it out of the MOH:AA pak6.pk3 file and the pak0.pk3 of MOH:SH, it still generates a script from somewhere. 2) The original localization.txt file in the pak0.pk3 for MOH:AA has something to do with the loading of the SH script. If you delete this, and the other two mentioned above, the console will not load ANY localization.txt script. 3) It's quite possible EA hard-coded a script into the .EXE or another file I cannot locate right now that "locks" changes of text in the file (MOTD, Chat Filter) I wish Chris Sheldon would confirm this with me. Simo, I'm pretty sure you were un-banned, so if you read this, please go over with me how you got the MOTD to work in SH again. I'm pretty sure you said you had to make a .PK3 out of it. Anyone else have any ideas/help suggestions? |
shouldnt this be in board of developers ?
|
no, as board of developers was for 2015 feed back / help / info and god only knows EA does not give feed back / help / info
on a side note, long time no hear judas jump on TS once in a while |
HEY JOE
HEY JOE...i know for a fact if you take all the local files out and put a new global file in the mainta file some things can be changed. you can also change the start up message like where it says click fire.i dont know if that helps you at all but there it is.

Actually that would help. I think what I will try to do is take both the localization from MOHAA and MOHSH and combine them, then remove any duplicate lines, then see if I can futz around with that. The problem is even if that works, would the user of the file need to delete the other files too? More testing to come. .. cry:
