hmm, if its an .exe I suppose you'd better check for virusses, you never know... The demo I downloaded was a .zip containing setup.exe

And then it looks like it's installing something, but I cant find any EXE for the SP demo.... whats wrong here ???

Dude, thats the install for the MP demo, I think you already had the MP demo installed and then you downloaded the MP demo again, its probably a hoax of some1 renaming the file to trick you into thinking it was the SP demo, just look for a better link, its out there somewhere...
