Simo Hayha not only killed 502 russians (some claim 542) but he did it mostly without a scope on his rifle! and he accomplished this in 100 days (a bullet struck his face in the last 2 days of the war, he live to the ripe age of ninety six i belive)
today this finnish snipers record has never been beaten. and is considered a hero of finland.
