AC'97 help
 
ok guyz i got my mobo liek 3 or 4 months ago.. and well i intalled it ran fne exept for the sound i didnt kno wmuch about pc's back then but now i wanna try and use my onboard sound instead of my crappy soudn card. i woudl liek to kno how to install it ... it;s a AC'97 Enhanced Audio controller... can u guyz link me to drivers and tell me what i gota do play.. i tried to make it work liek 5 times.. with no luck mad: thx again

mobo: p4vxad v.3x from VIA
intel p4:1.8ghz
geforce4:MX440
ram:655 DDR

You may have just simply dissabled on board sound in BIOS ,i would look their before anything.
This might have happened automaticaly when you put your sound card in, in case your not sure you normaly hold the delete button while booting the computer up to bring up the BIOS.

Dude he wants to use his onboard, not bypass it. And btw man I got the same built-in as you. Drivers should have come with it on a cd, but if not here you go.

If your using XP the drivers are built in. Check your ad hardware to and make sure its installed.

If you are using Windows 98, ME, 2000, or XP, there should also be Windows Update. I know the Compaq PC's I deal with at work are able to detect the onboard audio and update it.
