mac conflicts?
Do a majority of people playing on line use PC's? The reason I ask is I have a Mac and downloaded alot of the skins but they never seem to show up on multi-player when playing on-line. Could someone explain why? I've put the pk3 files in the right folder (Main).

Most people use PCs. The reason you can't see the skins is because they must be installed on the server for anyone to see them.

Skins are client side, and they usually show up irrespective of your computer architecture. Macintosh also use .pk3 files and the shaders are the same for both pc and mac machines. But if you are trying to create your own custom skin using a Macintosh and Stuffit's Dropzip or Zipit that will not work, because these two programs are not winzip compatible.
If, on the other hand, you have downloaded custom skins that are proven to work on the pc mohaa try toggling your texture compression. To test whether they work it is best to force models. That way you will be able to see all players with the custom skins you've chosen. |
I use a mac, and I have not had any problems to date. With the exception that I can't run or use or play on maps that I have downloaded.
The only map I ever wanted to play on was Arnhem. But noooo I can't use it, and I have never gotten a response that can cure that ill. If you know how to fix this, please help. As for the skins I can use them, but then someone always kicks me out for having a "non stock" skin. Just drop into .pk3 |
