secondary actions for weapons in Spear

In MOH, any weapon without a scope could easily be given one.

In Spear, almost every weapon is tied to melee for a secondary action.
If you go into the tik files and comment out the seconadry action code, the weapons still try to bash when in the game.

Add a scope, and when you right click during play, it tries to bash and put up the scope at the same time.

Anyone know how to stop the 2ndary actions altogether?
In my opinion, although it is cool for some weapons to bash...some guns would be better off with scopes instead.

I am starting to think this forum stinks.
That is, unless you have questions about skins, sounds, or like to argue about what WWII soldiers wiped their arse with.

Am I the only person that mods scripts and such?
Am I in the wrong forum? the wrong website?

if you keep bitching about how much we 'stink' then you are in the wrong place...

i mod .tik files.
if you put your scope zoom on something like number pad 6 and //comment out the scope lines and delete the scope .tik files you may have some luck.

why the hell would u wana add a scope to lets say a thompson SO UNREALISTIC. think 1944 not new age navy seal stuff. although a navy seal total conversion mod is not a bad idea hmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Get the AAN realism mod that has a squint on the second fire button look at how thwy did that alturnativly take the secondary fire lines from the sniper rifles add them inplace of the escondary fire on the other guns and just adjust the zoom number.

Hi mate,

Ok I haven't tried it myself but I reckon you should try the following.

1. Make sure you remove all the references to the Secondary action, in particular the line "secondary firetype melee". If you do this I suspect the player still animates but you'd be unable to damage an opponent on your own server....try it.

2. The reason I think you have both zoom and bash is cos you've not removed the animation for the secondary action. In the weapon TIK check you've deleted the call to the animation e.g.

secondaryfire bar.skc
{
server
{
entry shoot secondary
}
}

3. Finally you'll need to create the weapon modelling for the Zoomed secondary action.......
dm zoommovement 0.5
dm zoomspreadmult 0.055
zoom 20

I'd like to know how you get on actually!!!!

i haven't check the thread since last week.
thanks for all the help folks. (maybe I am in the right forum and should be more patient)

I'll try them out tonight and let you know.

sparx

when i saw what you added about removing the animation, i knew i hadn't done that.

i did comment that out.
still animates the bash...

now i am really confused. i thought you had it

to thorshammer:
by the way, you can't copy the 'secondary' lines out of the the sniper rifles' tik files, because there is none there to copy. thx anyway

to Simo:
I am not sure what you mean about putting the scope of number pad 6
