my internet connection!!!

I am in the UK, and I live in an area where broadband is not yet available. I can not play online because of my very poor connection. I have heard that there is a 'bot' patch for some games where the computer takes control of enemies, allowing you to play multiplayer off-line. Can anyone tell me if this is possible please?
THANKS

You can get a satellite connection. However, i do not know of any providers.

Yes, jv_map recently released a patch for MOH to allow you to play bots in MOH rather than real players.

Satelite connections provide incredible download speeds, but the latency is unplayable. The pings are worse than dial up.

yeah i can see that hapenning, as the signal has to be bounced, etc. But it is still a way for high speed internet tho

ok, d/l the bot map going to try it soon. I think it is a great shame that there is no patch so you can do this with all maps! but then again I am a bit of a pc novice so I would not know what is involved in the creation of such a patch. Thanks to you all..

I cant seem to get the map to work! I unzipped both files to the main folder but it would not show up. can anyone give detailed info on how to do it. THANKS

What about wireless internet? My ISP just recently announced that they will have it. Will it be just as slow as 56k too? I know it won't beat cable but is it worth the extra money each month?

Matrf 03-06-2003 10:35 AM

I heard some wireless isp . This is 2 way . It can upload and donwload so the speed should be awsome for ping and data.
