america land of the free?
so much for free speech eh? http://www.msnbc.com/local/WNYT/M276307.asp?cp1=1

Pretty hypocritical to say the least. I guess freedom of speech goes out the window when a president is obviously obsessed with something. hake:

Serves them right for wearing such fucking ugly shirts.... biggrin:
Basically, he didnt comply with a reasonable request put to him by the Mall's security who had every right to ask those men to remove those shirts. One didnt comply and was dealt with. Its simple really. The person who was offended by those shirts has the right not to be offended by them and was very much in the right to have security ask them to be removed. I'd do the same myself. This has nothing to do with Bush Gerard. This has everything to do with someone not abiding by securities requests. |
That's pretty horrible. If I wanted to wear a shirt saying something I believed in, I should be able to...so long as it wouldn't offend innocent kids or something.
"Give Peace a Chance" is totally acceptable. "Pound George W. in the Butthole" might not be so acceptable. Zone |

Hmmm come to think of it that would make a pretty snazzy t-shirt. biggrin: |

Freedom of speech does not override private property rights, much like the admins of this site can censor what ever they like, its a private site and freedom of speech does not apply, you are a guest. I am pretty sure that canada is very much the same.

Hey Sgt Scrot,
Why are you just trying to get a flame war started? I, personally, dont give a flying f*ck if you hate America. Im kinda glad you do. Im also Joe locked your other thread because no good would come from that. Just because you live in USA-lite dont cry, you could always move down here and get some human rights. As for this post the man with the Tshirt did exactly what I would do because we DO have a freedom of speech. He will make a ton of money from that store, they violated his rights. He bought the shirt in the same mall! Give peace a chance is not nessarly an anti war statement, he could be a John Lennon fan! |
Everyone's entitled to their own opinion. I for one, want to nuke Iraq, but I don't go into the public shopping mall with that painted on my chest. At the same time that they were not at a peace rally, he should be able to demostrate his ideas on the war. Even as he says, he wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary.

"Give Peace a Chance" is offensive? lol. We are a warmongoring country.
|
Well, the constitution only applies to government agencies not being nazi shits. It don't say anything about private companies.
In fact malls are probably the only source of nazi oppression in this country. The mall in my city has a rule that says groups of more than 4 teenagers will be broken up. WTF? If a couple of kids happen to be walking in the mall and they run into two more friends and start talking, and then a couple more friends show up, they can get chased out of the mall??? |
Like being kicked out of a mall is such a bad thing? biggrin:
