Try turning off:
virus programs and any firewall. Try some different video card driver versions. ------------------ http://simtown.net/members/crash615/cpl.jpg |
Hold up there, is your machine connected to the net when you play? Cause for some bizzare reason you have to be connected for the SP demo and it will lock up when you select your difficulty if your not connected.

Had it freeze at some grey screen just after i hit launch.
Reinstalled and went into directx diagnostic tool and pushed Hardware Sound Acceleration Level to full (id previously had it off). The piece of crap soundblaster PCI, I stopped having sound probs with another game as well and I was able to launch MOHAA. Gotta buy a new soundcard - if it works for you post it here so that people know what the problem with the Launch/freeze prob is. |
I believe Mustang is correct, same thing happens to me sometimes. I have a cable connect and some days it is slow, I noticed that sometimes on those slow days it will take up to 30 seconds to begin loading after picking the difficulty. I just wait it out and it hasn't failed to load once yet.
