Serious tech question..
Alright.... i have a question for anybody that might have the answer. My PC has one AGP slot and three PCI slots. Here is what i have in them from top to bottom: (AGP) Graphics card
PCI-Sound card ""-internal modem ""-(i assume it's an Ethernet adapter) Now what i want to do is get rid of the bottom one cause it is not being used, and move the modem and soundcard down one slot. The reason being is the fan on my G card is about and eighth of an inch away from the soundcard and i'm afraid of heat buildup. I know how to take them out and install them but i'm not sure about the software side of things. Is there anything special i have to do or will my pc automatically adapt? Sorry if this is long winded but i sure could use the help guys. Thanks! |
I have done something similar in the past, without any problems.
Maybe it is wise to remove/uninstall the devices in Device Manager before you actually change your hardware configuration. |
NOT A PROBLEM
i dont see a problem..turn off your pc..unplug the power cord...make the switch and restart your computer.
