download your video card driver with open gl compatibility (worked for me)

Rott3n 03-07-2003 09:56 PM

Same problem just updated drivers. 1 time i was asked to upload a debugger oOo:

Sniper Wolf [USAR] 03-08-2003 10:59 AM

well first off what IS your video card?

Old Reliable 03-08-2003 12:47 PM

the error is mostly caused by nvidia cards

Bazooka_Joe 03-08-2003 08:39 PM

I believe (now correct me if I'm wrong) you need to upgrade your video drivers. oOo:

Lemme know if that fixes it. You posted ur specs except your damn video card!

Simo Häyhä 03-08-2003 11:26 PM

geforce4 mx 460 64 mb card

Bazooka_Joe 03-09-2003 12:08 AM

http://www.nvidia.com, use the 41.09 drivers.

Jasper 03-09-2003 11:04 PM

Joe and I discussed this earlier. Trying to use 2 monitors while starting SH will allso give you the same error. I know this for a fact as thats my problem right now. EA TechSupport lists using 2 monitors as a possible cause and says SH doesnt support it.

Funniest damn thing about that is I know 10+ (myself included) who are using the dual monitor setup (makes it easier to see who is talking on TS among other things) using Nvidia based cards who have never had that happen.

Old Reliable 03-09-2003 11:35 PM

hmm there should be an FAQ at the top of this forum........

Right, I wasn't aware at the time he had dual monitors, and I didn't know about what you told me today, which is really good to know. Weird, but good to know. Do you know for a fact it's everyone with a dual setup, or just you so far?

XP ships with no Opengl drivers so after a reinstall it may happen.
Oh and screw 41.09 go for the 43.00 on http://www.guru3d.com *

I am not responsbile for any bad things that happen if you do use them drivers :)

Bah, those are beta! Follow his 2nd sentence, don't be responcible for fauking your drivers! heh Stick with the 41.09 for now until the 42.XX are complete.

Hollywood 03-11-2003 11:47 AM

Actually I'm running the 43.00 drivers and I have had no problem. I installed them a couple of weeks ago. So I'd say try them out.
