I think this has to do with a run32.dll error, but I'm not positive. Anyone else?

I KNOW!!!

its to do with ur nvidia card (if u dont have one i cant help)

the nvidia drivers cause it to go crazy right so what u need to is this

For windows 9x + ME - Ctrl + Alt + Delete

End all tasks running except for :-

System
Explorer

Run The Install then it should work

For WinXp

Ctrl + Alt + Delete

Processes

Close all programs run by u (the user)
Except :-

Taskmgr
System
Explorer

Leave all system programs WELL alone

hope this helps if not go to the official website thats where i got my help from!

or you can go into safe mode and install it, if that is possible

What does it do to install safe mode. What the difference between safe mode and a normal boot.

Try this:

Click start --> run --> type msconfig and push enter --> select Autostart and uncheck everything. Sometimes it's enough to uncheck all rundll32.dll related, but just to be sure uncheck all. --> click ok and reboot.

Windows will tell you something about an alterativ start or something, just click ok. Install Spearhead, run msconfig again. Select all and click ok. Reboot and everythings fine again.

Just to be sure though, make a backup point or whatever its called, so if anything goes wrong you have a backup. Never had any probs with this though, had to do it on my machine aswell as the server, very strange.
Hope this helps.

safe mode is windows running on the bare minimum, if I am not mistaken...it is usually recommended to do the defragmenting in SM also
