GED?

So I basically fucked up alot of my highschool career with excessive absences and whatnot. My guidance counsler told me of a program where I come to school two periods a day and take a practice GED test, then go take a real GED test. Seems kinda the best thing to do in my situtation

My question is: How bad will having a GED affect me in the long run? Will most jobs or colleges accept it? I asked around and most said yes...

Old Reliable 03-12-2003 01:20 PM

yes it is considered like a high school diploma but to a lesser amount, it will get the job done and it is much better than not completing high school. that's as much as I know

My old room mate took a ged and passed and the guy is dumb. so you should have no problem passing.

You implying that I'm stupid? cry:

Anywho; it seems like it's too good to be true! I only come to school 1st and 2nd period then get to go home. In this class all I have to do is take some computer courses and listen to music if I want

A GED should not have any negative effects for you in the long run. You can still get into college with it, most employers will accept it and the military will as well.

Come on just get the real thing. GED may get you into a city college but good luck getting into a University. It also depends what you want to do college or work it all depends.

Word of warning, the GED test is supposed to be a killer, from what I have heard. Be prepared to study like a madman.
