Scanner Question?

Hey guys I have a Mustek MFS-12000SP Scanner that we use on our downstairs computer, which is Win98Se. I am trying to hook it up to my computer (Win XP Pro) but cannot find any drivers that are compatable. If anyone knows anywhere for lots of drivers, or any ideas I could really use them. Thanks

1) I don't believe that scanner is compatible with WinXP, as I have the same one.

2) They took all of their drivers off their website, so I don't think you can get them for your OS.

3) If they ARE compatible with WinXP, when you plug it in, it should install the drivers automatically.

I'll see what I can dig up for you.

Not compatible with 2000/XP, sorry.

yeah, I think I agree that it isnt XP compatible, I remember reading somewhere that a few scanners are not able to work on XP, and this one could possibly it. you could give that driver a try if you really wanted though........

DeadBolt 03-16-2003 02:19 AM

lol seriously.

Ok I forgot that I had 98 on my comp too...lol...cuz I run a dual boot.

Anywho, I install the drivers in 98 and it gives me an error when trying to scan....says that it cannot find the source file?

Bazooka_Joe 03-16-2003 03:18 AM

Did it actually scan the file, then say this? Or did you try to scan and it didn't and gave the error. Gimme the exact error msg, too.

DeadBolt 03-16-2003 04:24 AM

In Photoshop I go to Import, Mustek F/B Scanner...

Error Message-

Could not opent he Twain Source. Make sure there is a valid source for your scanner in the TWAIN directory found in the Windows directory.

Man, you two have almost the same sig, heh.

Well, that means it couldn't detect the drivers for the scanner, basically.

Yeah I made him that sig hehe. And Im gonna try to have a friend help me with the scanner, but if it doesn't work I'm giving up. It makes this weird clicking noise anyways, so I think it's time to buy a new one. biggrin:
