You got some pretty high settings for what hardware you have, try lowering everything to medium settings.

I have about the same computer as you do( amd k6 550mhz 256mb geforce 2mx 400) and it runs like shit!! Makes no difference if I play on low settings. don't know what the problem is.

Ydiss 01-09-2002 05:12 AM

Mustang AMD k6 with any speed cpu will run crappy for Half-Life, let alone MOH, and MoH is much more processor intensive. K6 processors are equal to their equivalent Pentium 1 processors.

That says it all. You really need to upgrade processor (I did, from my old k6-2 350 Mhz to a Duron 700 and noticed an imediate improvement, although even my Duron is too slow for MoH).

Blunt, 128mb ram isn't ideal for this game, so perhaps you could add some memory, might help your lag a little.

Other-wise I can only think it's the server you are connecting to. What pings do you usually get?

If you get under 100 ping, then it's likely your FPS that is slow.

To check FPS input '+set ui_console 1' into the cmd line for your MoH shortcut icon properties, then when in game enter fps 1 into the console.

This will show you how many frames per second your pc is running at during game.

If this number is yellow or red it is below ideal speed (ie under 25 or 15 frames per second).

If that's the case I can only assume you need more memory. If this is fine but your lag is over 100 ping then it would be your cable connection playing up, or a crappy server.

That's all I can offer to help, sorry =/

It's not a matter of making the sacrafice, its a matter of gettin some $$$

you can send it to .. lol

Ydiss perhaps you're right but I go a amd k6-2 500mhz and I play for exemple Max Payne in 800*600*16 with all the settings on high and it runs great. Always a good framerate
So I suppose it has to be possible to play MOHAA too.
I know that the bottleneck is my processor but when I want to upgrade it,I have to get a new motherboard as well and that's gonna be really expensive.

I believe it has something to do with this demo...everyone is experiencing it to some degree, im sure the full version will fix this problem

I get like 50 ping.. I think it is my fps

Inforit 01-09-2002 08:51 AM

Also look at the rate settings. If you have cable settings the rate is set at 20,000 which I think is alot on the internet. I use to lag quite a bit at 20,000. My ping would be in 50s but I was dropping alot of packets due to the server settings was probably set at a lower rate to control bandwidth. I would even get a disconnection icon sometimes. So what I think happens is that if you set your rate to high it sends alot more packets than the server is set to get and the server throws it back at you as an unwanted packet and causes you to have packet loss. Go to your console and type rate and see what you are set at. I set my rate at 10,000 for my cable connection and it doesnt lag or disconnect anymore. If you ask a serer admin of what rate they use..they will probably say its around 8000 to 10000. So anything over for the client will cause packet loss...Hope it helps.

THANKS FOR THE INFO!

Max Payne isn't that processor intensive. Less models on-screen, tighter environments, etc.

In Max Payne you only every have 2-4 models updating. Plus the maps in which you play are not designed for multiplayer, and as such are mostly linear, which means they are easier to control the amount of leafs visible (polygons).

I'm certain that if you had to do The Hunt map in Max Payne, and could enable the FPS 1 command in it, with the Quake 3 engine, you'd get the same fps as in MoH.

If your FPS is around 25-30 on a game with no other players then it will surely drop below 15-10 with them.

Mine does and I have a Duron 700, like I said. The Duron is way better than the K6, as it is the next generation of cpu.

It is expensive to upgrade, unless you can do it yourself (which I did). A-Bit k7a RAID motherboard will cost about £100 after vat, and an Athlon 1.2 Ghz about £80+.

Expensive for some, but still much more desirable than buying a completely new PC.

You'll notice the difference, trust me http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/smile.gif I can't wait til I can afford to upgrade my cpu to an Athlon.

Only during the start of matches. I don’t know why?

Mange 01-09-2002 09:43 AM

Well...Max Payne is not a good example...heck, I was able to run it ok on a P2-333 with 128 megs of ram and 16 meg video card and it looked decent at 1024x768with settings set on medium (mostly below the recommended req). I would say you need to upgrade. Yes, it is a hastle and yes it can be a little costly. I came to the point I realized though that if I want to play the new stuff coming out that I was going to have to make the sacrafice and upgrade. Did so and have not regretted it since. That is the path I would take.

OK , it may be my computer but I doubt it.
MoH:Aa runs so bad. It takes like 10 mins to load and when I play its glitchy like I move mouse fast and it freezes then its there.

I have a p3 500mhz
128 ram
cable internet
prophet 4000xl 32mb grphics card and
19 inch samtron moniter. I have alll my game settings on highest and resolution on 1024x728. Any suggestions? I also tried lowering res and ingame detail I saw no difference. And if it doesn't lag it takes a second for bullet to shoot. Like I click the mouse...... then the bullet shoots lliek a second after. Any suggestions would be *very helpfull thanks!
