weren't we all noobs at one time?

i've been reading peoples threads here and there and peoples replies too them and one thing i don't understand is why when someone is new it's such a crime. i'm still fairly new to this game myself (muliplayer anyway) and i respect the people that are able to help me with any problems i have and also the people who have developed great skill with out reverting to cheating. but i don't go around dishing someone for being new. any thoughts on why this happens? it just seems to be a bit childish. sorry for the rant folks.

Well, most folks who are experienced with the game are used to everyone on the boards aren't used to newcomers at this stage in the game. Considering that the game has been out for over a year, you would expect some comments on someone who has just found MOH now. But I agree, comments should be laid to rest, and welcoming the newcomer should be the first step versus name calling.

I dunno... Because they can't think of any better insults so they call someone a "n00b"?

I'v noticed it to, and it IS childish... But oh well. There are inmature assholes everywhere in this world, what ya gonna do?

1080jibber 03-30-2003 06:32 PM

it is kind of funny knowing that someone is like really pissed off at the other end because ya just picked up the game
its good to go on a server that is full of people, because if its only got a couple of people in the server it does piss me off a bit when someone doesnt know what there doing

This is the case. Lots of people do this. And I hate it. Childish. But as you said: "What ya gonna do?"

At the moment, I am ignoring them. Lots of n00b-callers are rather n00bish themselves anyway.

its just silly. praise the "n00bs". i hope the steady stream of "noobs" keeps coming along. it means more support for this game as far as its lifespan is concerned. they keep this game going. bring em all on i say..

Judas 03-31-2003 09:12 AM

some people think its funny. i dont mind helping people out at all ... i had tons of questions when i was a n00b and got the same types of replies you see. thats why im so willing to help now freak:

I'm still a n00b. Flame away!

My pet peeve is when someone tells you to go do a search. Well first off, the search here SUCKS! and second, its a discussion forum, not a "post the answer once and make everyone search for it everytime after that" forum.

descry 03-31-2003 09:56 AM

damn homo, post in the right forum, n00b

Static 03-31-2003 09:56 AM

When I first came to mohaa online I wasnt really a n00b purely because I had been playing all sorts of fps's so I already knew the basics and didnt run around blowing myself up with a zooka

Zoner 03-31-2003 10:43 AM

"n00b is something you earn" - Innoxx

Just because you're new to the game/forum, doesn't make you a n00b, in my books. You're a n00b by being an abrasive asshat, who would stick his ass in a river to get a drink.

New players are cool with me...we all hadda learn sometime.
