Best beach Maps!
What are the best beach Maps out there for spearhead?
DO any live up to the original AA omaha beach map? |
I haven't seen any that rival Omaha. Island Assault has landing craft and a smallish beach, but it's not the centerpiece of the map, by any means.
|
Utah Beach is ok, kinda buggy though.
|
It suprsises me that there really arent any kick ass beach maps out there!
|
I never really thought of it before you brought it up, but I agree with you.
I want sand in my shorts, people! |
Im not fond of beach maps anymore they just get boring after youve played them god knows how many times * remembers old skool omaha dod map *
|
There's very little that a custom beach map could offer over Omaha. Unless you use thick fog it will always be a sniper map, if it's objective.
If it's TDM/DM then that's not so bad so long as both teams can spawn at either end (that is you take it in turns to 'hold' the bunkers, depending on who is doing the best). But still, it'd most likely have loads of snipers. |
i was thinking a tdm match similar to the beach map for BF1942.
There is the allied landing on one end, the beach fortifications in the middle then an Axis spawn located on the opposite far end made up of troop bunkers and living quarters. |
even though ive only played bf's omaha map a few times it was fun none the less simply because you can do the whole boat landing thing and I seemed to have the nack of doing long range rocketing on enemy tank whores coming down the hills biggrin:

argh horrible green/grey colour crash there lol ;) |
Thank you for fixing my link, Gothic_child.
This map is one of the maps in the HITP mod. There are MOHAA and Spearhead executables in the mod. The image you see is with no lighting, just a bsp, so the colors will not look great. It's not supposed to be pretty anyway; it's supposed to be authentic. This is what Pacific atolls look like that are formed by volcanic eruptions. Black lava rock, black sand and a bright green vegetation that grows on the porous surface of the lava rock as it ages and crumbles. |
