Format Problem!
 

im trying to format one of my drives and i keep getting the same message
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
cannot format a network drive
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

how the hell do you format a network drive?
or atlease disable it?

im doing this in DOS
and my OS is winXP Home

Stop being lazy and just swap drives so you can directly FORMAT the "network" drive...

someone from canada needs my help and support..thinks it over..i think ill just stick my head back in the sand and hope the problem takes care of its self.its easier for me that way.i dont wanna get involved in someone elses problems.

you have no damn i dea what i am. so ill tell you. what i am is an american. also what i am is a guy whos proud of the job our military is doin to that crazy maniac saddam. what else i am is a guy a who takes offence when another country sits on the side lines and talks shit about how we shouldnt be over there in the first place. it especially pisses me off because the only reason they dont have to worry about much of anything is because there in our back yard so no one would dare mess with them because we wouldnt allow it. so they live in a peaceful world by defalt. the very reason you have peace is the country you talk shit about. thats who i am. and by the way...it also kinda tells you who you are.

Did you try FDISK?

are you on a LAN or network? did you create any dynamic partitions?

i did try FDISK, still the same thing

i am on a network but not sharing file through the network

and there are no partitions except the partition when i connected the drive
