Server Connection Problem

I just built this new computer. When I try to play Medal of Honor online, I constantly lose connection to the server. I get that green box at the bottom-middle of the screen and I cant move. Yet, I can see people move around and see the death messages pop up, and I can even talk. As far as I know, I dont lose connection to the internet (I'm on cable, btw). I know its not the ISP or anything to deal with my modem/router setup because my previous system works fine on the same network. I also know its not the integrated ethernet port I use on my motherboard because I tried a separate NIC, which gave me the same problems. I've downloaded almost every update/patch/driver out there for my setup, all of which didnt fix anything. I've uninstalled and installed the game 3 times already, so that isnt it either.

Epox 8RDA+
Anthlon 2400+
Corsair XMS 512mb
WD 80gb Special Edition
Radeon 9500

That's my setup. What could cause my losing connection to the server?

I would still say it's something to do with your connection, maybe not your ISP personally but one of the hops between you and the servers your connected to

Check out my guides section over at http://www.mohadmin.com Look for the tracert guide. run this and see what your getting for a reply.

Good luck

How do I get the command window to stay up after it finishes the tracert?

rudedog 04-05-2003 06:18 AM

open a command window first then type tracert

do not type tracert a the run command.

I do that. But after it finishes the last hop, it closes the command window.

right mouse click cmd.exe and turn off "closed after finished" or whatever its called.

nothing wrong with your tracert to that server.

I still say it's lag. Make sure your connecting to a server under 100ms.

Even now I get an average of 30-40ms. I dont think lag is an issue. It must have something to do with network setup or my ISP.

I use two nics. One intergrated and one PCI. if your running a newer OS win2k or XP then you do not have to worry about resource conflicks.

With the war going on and everyone checking out cnn and msnbc the net can get congested every once in a while.

If I had to bet, I would bet on your ISP as being the problem.

Good luck

Well, I think I may have narrowed down my problem. I was just playing BF1942 without any problems. I think it may be MOHAA. Any suggestions?
