Forgive me if there has already been a topic like this...but:
When you throw a knife (See the Top 10 List---my post) to have the soldier grab in pain at the knife in him, grunt, pull it out, look at it, have the look of Hell in his eyes at me, and throw it back, cussing in German...then, diving for cover when I throw it back or pull a grenade out, and throw it... To have the Germans team up and look for me...Has anyone here played No One Lives Forever? If you have, you know what I'm talking about. If you haven't, GET THAT GAME. It is the best FPS I've EVER played besides GE...but getting off the topic. I want them to look for me, talk to each other, cover each other when they break into a room where I might possibly be hiding...how about break/kick down the door tot the room where they think I am... More later. |
If it's okay for me to suggest an Allied AI improvement, I've been impressed here and there when they actively get behind cover and start shooting -- not so impressed that for no particular reason (even when I haven't moved) they then wander out into the open and all but say "HEY! SHOOT ME!" or into open ground for a Nerbelwefer to blow 'em up. http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/smile.gif
I loved NOLF, but the Half-Life marines and ninja assassins remain my favorite AIs. I've maybe experienced better technically, but those stick out in my mind as most memorable in single player. |
I think MOHAA has done a pretty good job with the AI. They regroup, take cover, and try to out-flank you. We shall see in full version.

Hi, I'm new here. I'm not a serious gamer, but from what I have played I think the MOHAA AI are okay in close combat, however, they get in the way too much. Not to mention how they stand in the open to get killed. When I try to snipe they are usually giving my position away or they end up standing right in front of me? Overall, the worst has to be when I threw a couple grenades into the building across the street (town by the tank) and the captain threw a grenade back on our side!
So far I hope the full version is a little better when it comes to these minor problems. I'm dying for this game to come out though! The 22nd seems so far away! |
Or when you blow up the 88's they stand next to the explosion - stupid...
|
Hmm, I'm getting a case of de ja vu. Anyway, the AI in MoH:AA is certainly competent, they do have some small problems (taking cover...) but overall they behave pretty well. But it's all good.
And I think your expectations are too high NOLF. But that's me. ------------------ http://dba.gamepoint.net/images/Sgt_Echo.jpg Another useless post by Echo |
Dudes, the Germans should be really smart, and do things like... capture one or more of your allies and take them as hostages. Then they force you to stop shooting and negotiate for their release. After you successfully negotiate, the German reinforcements (who they secretly called for at the beginning) move in and take you all out. Now THAT would be some serious AI!

I don't think that would work well in a FPS...you could do it, but I feel it would take away from the action...it's more like a novelty....though, it could happen w/ your A.I. teammates if all I'm hearing about them is true... http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/tongue.gif
BTW, about my expectations being too high, this thread is just about cool stuff you'd LIKE them to do...not that it will ever happen in future MoH games, not that it WON'T ever happen, it's just cool ideas we throw out. P.S. Haven't played Half-Life, working on it, but NOLF is the best! I don't know how MoH will compare to it, them being two completely separate types of games, but I hope it'll be just as good or better than NOLF. Maby I'll post a full review of MoH when it comes out. Only 11 more days!!! http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/biggrin.gif P.S. I changed my username cause when I tried to post a reply, it kept on saying there was no one registered w/ my username, so I changed it slightly. So it's still me, No One Lives Forever.
