exporting with bones??

i exported my kar43 in LR3D with the kar98 bones, as kar98.skd + .skc, and put it in the kar folder. then when i went ingame, the gun was invisable, but the hands still appear. if i drop the gun on the floor then nothing appears either. i imported the kar98 and its bones, then deleted the kar and put my kar43 over the bones, then exported. i tried exporting as skl, then compilng that aswell to skd and skc, but nothing changes

I had same probs as well. Did you use correct base bone for attaching? Without looking it shoudl be same as the original gun's name.

In your .pk3 you need the original .skc and .lod files, the new .skd and tik. file.

Then it should work.

i just imported the skd and skc of teh exported kar43, and all thats appeared is the garand clip and bones. the gun parts are all mesh, so is that the problem? when i tried it ingame, i just put the skd and skc in a pk3, so i had kar98.skd and kar98.skc in models/weapons/kar98

i checked the moh kar98 aswell, and i couldnt see any parts that were attatched to bones

Did you converted meshes back to skin before exporting? Heres how it goes. You make a model or mod an existing one. In LR its mesh. You cannot assign verteces to bones unless you have skins. Once you are done with modeling convert your mesh back to skin, rename skin's name (surf_name) and assign its all verteces to the root bone with weight of 1.

Some more info about guns over here:

** There are only limited options for adjusting a skin in LR. Once you convert it to mesh you lose all information about bone weights and assignments. Thats causing a lot of work when dealing with multi weight verteces, like player models...
