New Video card?
 

So I'm perusing through newegg.com and am thinking about buying a new video card. I'm not looking for somtin so incredible, but nothing shitty either. Looking to spend round 150-175. Any suggestions?

ATI Radeon 9700 (non pro) os going for about $200.00.

ATI Radeon 9500 128MB goes for about $140.00, it's a good card for the price, but keep in mind ATI is phasing out the 9500's for the new 9600 series.

You may hear many vocal critics of the ATI cards, but really it comes down to the chipset on your motherboard.

GeForce 4 Ti4600 always gets a good "best bang for the buck rating". That retails for about $180.00.


The Geforce FX 5200 you can get for approximately $100-$130.00. The fan get a noisy on the heatsink, but the grpahics quality for the price is excellent.

I've heard a lot of good things about the Radeon 9500 128 MB. There are drivers that make it just like the 9700 Pro. Also, you can get the 9500 that overclocks to 9700.

i got a geforce 4 ti 4200 128mb and i can run any game at high as it can go and it gives me really good graphics it isnt that expencive either i think about 100$ mabey i forgot what i got mine for

Geforce 4 Ti4400 and its the best card I have ever owned. Plays all of the latest games on the highest res. with no problems.

I was thinking either the Asus Geforce 4 4600 or the 9500 PRO. They both look nice, I'll have to check with some people.

i would just get the 9700 pro, pay a little extra, i think its worth it and when DOOM 3 comes out you will be really happy biggrin:
